The Dutch translation of All the Time We Thought We Had, with the title De tijd die we nog dachten te hebben (I like the fact that the Dutch don’t capitalise book titles) has been out for a couple of months now. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to read it and can testify that Saskia Peeters has done a marvellous job. It’s lovely that a book which I conceived as a tribute to Magteld, among other things, is now available in her native language. Delighted too with the work Veltman publishers put in to produce it, complete with Kari Brownlie’s arresting cover. So if you’re in the Netherlands and looking for a last-minute Christmas present, head out to your local independent Dutch bookshop or order it from bol.com.
